Germán González Rico

Managing Partner

Managing Partner of Coscomate Hospitality Group’s (CHG) US operations holds a BA in Economics from Chapman University. After interning at LACI a Clean-Tech Incubator in Los Angeles, he returned to Mexico to join CHG’s business development team. In 2019, González partnered with Michelin-star chef Carlos Gaytán and opened Tzuco in downtown Chicago. 

Tzuco has won multiple culinary and design awards, such as James Beard Foundation Award Semifinalist for Best New Restauran, Best Design honor in the 2019 Eater Awards, Best Design by Jean Banchet Awards in 2020, Chicago's 2021 Bib Gourmand by MICHELIN Guide, MICHELIN Guide 2024, among others. 

In 2023, González opened Ummo, an Italian restaurant in Chicago, followed by Loft 22 bar in the same city. 

In 2024, he expanded with Paseo, Céntrico, and Tiendita in Downtown Disneyland. That same year, he also launched El Grito Chicago, a vibrant festival celebrating Mexican Independence Day.

Looking ahead, he has multiple projects in development for 2025 and 2026, including restaurants at Princess Hotel Acapulco, St. Regis Los Cabos, and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
